The Pilgram's courage

When I think of Thanksgiving I not only think of all that I am thankful for at this moment, love of family, home and hearth, but, I think of the courage it must have taken those Pilgrims to leave all that they had known, travel to a far away land, risking life and limb, if they survived the crossing of the Atlantic.   I am thankful they had the courage to not only take the first step of that journey, but, to keep going even when all seemed lost.  For without that we might very well, not be here and that is something to be thankful for, being here, together and sharing this time in our lives.

And although the photo might not be "reality" of what that first meal was like, it is a hope that what the photo represents is what came to be after time and the extension of friendship and trust beyond language and culture.

I am thankful that the Pilgrams had the courage and with the mounting issues of survival, kept the faith and the courage to not give up. When you think of that we have alot to be thankful for.
